Los Barrios sponsors two youth leadership conferences per year, one in the fall for Junior and Senior High School students and one in the spring for middle school seventh and eighth graders.  The one day conferences are made possible by the financial support of various local business sponsors and by the generous community volunteers who serve as speakers.  Through the collaboration of the contributors, as well as Amarillo Independent School District, Region 16, Amarillo College and other area learning institutions.  Los Barrios de Amarillo is able to continue to provide educational information to Amarillo and area students.  Senior students who attend "Step Up" are eligible for college scholarships.
