Step Up to Success
Los Barrios sponsors two
youth leadership conferences per year, one in the fall for Junior and
Senior High School students and one in the spring for
middle school seventh and eighth graders. The one
day conferences are made possible by the financial
support of various local business sponsors and by the
generous community volunteers who serve as speakers.
Step Up to
Success is a community effort supported by Panhandle
school districts, West Texas A&M University, Amarillo
College and Region XVI Education Service Center.
Panhandle
students who attend receive information about careers,
college entry and financial aid.
Students who attend "Step Up" are eligible to
apply for the Los Barrios de Amarillo college scholarship.
