Scholarships
We support, encourage, and promote higher education.
Los Barrios de Amarillo is proud to provide scholarships to students to pursue their dreams through higher education. We are able to support students pursuing career and technical certificates, associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees.
Our two-year scholarship program for students seeking an associate’s degree, trade school degree, or other certification, awards a $2,000 scholarship to be paid in $1,000 installments per year for two years.
Our four-year scholarship program for students seeking a bachelor’s degree, awards a $4,000 scholarship to be paid in $1,000 installments per year for four years.
Scholarships are reserved for students attending:
• Amarillo College
• Clarendon College
• Eastern New Mexico University
• Frank Phillips College
• Texas Tech University
• West Texas A&M University
Interested students must meet certain criteria and requirements to be considered. Applications are available in December of every year and the deadline to complete applications are March 1st the following year.
We provide a mentorship program to empower our recipients through a positive relationship of encouragement and accountability for a successful educational outcome.

Please make sure you meet the following criteria and include the following documents:

One letter of recommendation
-
GPA of 3.0 (80)
-
A 400-word essay (choose a topic from second page of PDF form)

A copy of your high school transcript
Key Requirements for Following Years
-
GPA 2.5 (77 or above) for the previous year
-
A copy of college transcript
-
Proof of enrollment with a minimum of 9 hours

Must maintain regular contact with our President, Mary Bralley in the Group Me app.
