Nominations must be received by September 26, 2022.

The Barrio has a long history of resilience and ingenuity, and we are excited to bring you a panel discussion providing stories of the Barrio to those in attendance. And in keeping with tradition, a delicious and authentic Mexican meal will be served, and awards will be presented to local leaders and volunteers.

This year the national theme "Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation," exemplifies what local organizations dedicated to serving the Hispanic community are working to achieve. The Barrio was established in 1889 making it one of the oldest neighborhoods in Amarillo. The neighborhood has played a vital role in the City’s development and is a living example of the change that has continued to shape the area’s cultural heritage and economic opportunities. We hope you will join us and be inspired to learn more about the east side of town and the people who live there.
