FREE Middle & High School Programs
A College and Career Day started at Caprock High School in 1971 to provide students with the opportunity to hear from local business leaders, professionals, and other volunteers - information that would help prepare them for a successful future. Today, our EPIC Success College & Career Fairs have grown and now hosts up to 1,200 students from Region 16 each year.
The annual middle school conference is open to 6th and 8th graders in the Region 16 area and is usually held in March.
The annual high school conference is open to 9th–12th graders in the Region 16 area and is usually held in November.
The conferences are held at Central Church of Christ, 1401 S. Monroe Street in Amarillo, but may be held virtually due to COVID-19.
The event includes:
A motivational keynote speaker
Speakers in 14 career areas ranging from Culinary Arts to Engineering and other popular career paths
Exhibitor booths featuring colleges and universities, employers, and other resources
Los Barrios de Amarillo is proud to continue the tradition of focusing on higher education through the expansion of Step Up to Success with a job shadowing model.
EPIC 2.0 is open to select juniors and seniors enrolled in high school within Potter and Randall County. Students are selected by their respective College, Career & Military Readiness staff. This opportunity entails a half-day immersion focusing on four key professions:
We are extremely proud to collaborate with Altura Engineering, Amarillo National Bank, American Advertising Federation, & Bell Helicopter to provide a full in-depth day of the career choice of approximately 80 -100 students each year.
