Hispanic Heritage Month is a national celebration of the history and cultures that Hispanic and Latin Americans have made to American society and culture. It is celebrated September 15 – October 15 and Los Barrios de Amarillo organized a virtual event which honored and recognized local leaders in our Amarillo community.
The theme "Reflecting on the Past, Looking to the Future," commemorated our 50th anniversary. The present and a few past board presidents shared memories of the organization and how it's made a difference in the lives of students in the Texas
Panhandle. And in keeping with tradition, awards were presented to local leaders and volunteers.
